Happy Birthday Flora Hooks

Today we celebrate the birth of our majestic Flora Hooks. Owner, AKA Boss Lady of this outstanding company—though there’s so much more to her.

Flora started working at 13 years old. From a very early age she had a strong sense of responsibility. She worked many jobs, from a donut shop to a bank and every dignified position in between. She modeled and she danced, always maintaining her innate poise. She survived fires as well as the many turbulences of life, proving time and time again they were no match for her.

At one point Flora decided to pursue her studies and became a nurse. She did that for 20+ years as she raised her 6 children. Lastly, she took up a traveling nurse position for many years. It was through this experience of continuous mistreatment and discomfort from the staffing agencies, that Flora became inspired to start her own improved staffing agency —QRMS. She vowed to make things better for her employees, for as a human, as a mother, and as the empathetic angel that she is, she wished to support and take under her wing these hardworking nurses and health care workers. And so she did.

While it hasn’t always been easy, you could never tell that by talking with Flora. She has this positive and vibrant energy about her that constantly inspires those around her. You will always find her well dressed and looking beautiful, no matter the day or the event. It is as though she is always ready for the best things in life.

While interviewing her son and Vice President of QRMS— AJ Hooks, one of her biggest admirers, he proceeded to say the following:

“What I admire the most about my mom is that she NEVER gives up. She always puts others before herself and that’s a beautiful thing.”

But he is not the only admirer Flora has.

Her older son, Jermaine Rowe, President of QRMS, while asked about what he enjoys most about working with Flora, he answered without hesitation:

“I love watching the gift she has of working with people. Her interaction and communication abilities are uncanny.”

One thing that I noticed upon meeting her is that she has a lot of traits similar to my mom. That alone instantly made me feel comfortable with her. As for me, although I am not part of the family, Flora has always made me feel that I was. Her heart is ever so kind and generous. A mix of fierce and loving. She’s everything a woman should be. Everything an astounding leader must be.
